Life

Do you want to live in love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and having self-control? You can live in this way if you put your faith in Jesus and continue to live being filled with the Holy Spirit.

God loves you

First, you need to realise and accept that there is a God who wanted you to be born, who had knitted you in your mother’s womb, and who had planned a great destiny for you. You are His masterpiece. When He looks at you He sees you in the way He intended you to be.

God loves you so much that He gave his one and only Son as a ransom for your sins (all the wrong things you’ve done) in order to bring you back to Him, to give you eternal life (John 3:16) but also to have a close relationship with you here on this planet while you live in this body.

My life changed after I’ve put my trust in Jesus and asked Him to come into my heart. As I’ve surrendered to Him, He deposited the Holy Spirit inside of me, who brought love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control into my heart. These are not given to others from my own strength but have been received from God.

Jesus Saves

All you have to do is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He was raised from the Death, and that He died for the forgiveness of your sins, but also to repent (turn to God, turn away from your sins) and receive the forgiveness that Jesus paid the price for. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved”Romans 10:9-10.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast”Ephesians 2:8.

Now, let’s look at what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit.

“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you” – John 16:7, NLT

“When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment” – John 16:8, NIV

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” – John 14:26, NIV

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever” – John 14:16, KJV

“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me” – John 15:26, ESV

Holy Spirit Empowers

“Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. “You are witnesses of these things. “And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high,” told Jesus to their disciples – Luke 24:45

“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” – Matthew 3:11

Live by faith

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.“TrulyI tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”  – Mark 11:22-24

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” – Matthew 17:20

“For we live by faith, not by sight” – 2 Corinthians 5:7

Authority

Jesus gave you the authority to heal the sick, cast out demons, cleanse lepers and raise people from the dead. Command the pain to go away in the name of Jesus and expect it to go. Study Jesus’ ministry and learn from what He did.

When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick” – Luke 9:1-2

The same authority is given to us today to heal the sick and cast out demons in His name.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” – Matthew 28:18-20

Peter making use of the authority that has been given to him.

“Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” – Acts 3:6

When you pray, expect it to happen because “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” – Matthew 18:18, NIV

The Healing Power

When you pray for other people to be healed, expect God to heal the because this is His Will.

“Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father” John 14:12

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles” – Psalm 103:2-5

“If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you – Exodus 15:26

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” – Isaiah 41:10

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you” – Exodus 23:25

If you need healing for yourself, I believe you can receive the healing through faith because Jesus paid the price for you – “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed” 1 Peter 2:24

Provisions

“For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess”– Deuteronomy 30:16

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:19

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” – Proverbs 3:5-6

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” – Psalm 37:23

If you are a born again believer, you need to change the way you think and see things from Heaven’s perspective. This is your declaration because God is providing for you, you lack nothing, He is giving you the desire of your heart, and wants you to live in overflow.

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters” – Psalm 23:1-2

Do what God asked you to do.

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord” – Proverbs 16:20

The Promised Blessings

The first condition to receive the blessings of Abraham is to be a believer of Jesus, a born again of the Spirit of God. If you are not yet but believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He died for your sins, check out this page to find out what this means and what prayer you have to pray to receive Jesus as your Saviour and restore your relationship with God.

If you are a believer of Jesus you should expect to receive everything that God had promised. You are co-heir with Christ (read Romans 8:17), you have been promised the blessings of Abraham. “He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit” – Galatians 3:14.

“In Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” – Galatians 3:26.

Let’s look at what God had promised to Abraham to find out what belongs to us as part of the inheritance we receive through Christ (Galatians 12).

“Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

“I will make you into a great nation,
    and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.”

“Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold” – Genesis 13:2

Because Abraham listened to God and did what He told him at each step, God looked after him and prospered Him. He wants to do the same with you if you want His Will, and not yours. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” – Matthew 6:33.
