Dear God,
I come before you today because I need your help. Lord, you know the pain and suffering that comes with depression. You see the darkness surrounding me and the heaviness weighing me down.
Please wrap your loving arms around me and bring me comfort, as your word says in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Help me to feel your presence and your love, even in the midst of my struggles.
Lord, your Word says in Isaiah 61:3, that you will give me “a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Please replace my despair with praise and thanksgiving. Help me to focus on your goodness and your faithfulness, even in the midst of my struggles.
Please give me the strength to reach out for help and help me see the good things I may have in life.
Lord, your Word says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, that your grace is sufficient for me and that your power is made perfect in weakness. Please help me to lean on your strength and to trust in your grace, even when I feel weak and helpless.
Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love and your faithfulness. I trust in your provision and your promises, and I believe that you are able to heal even the deepest wounds. Bring comfort and healing to me and to all who are struggling with depression.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
