Gratitude and Laughter Increase Your Confidence

I personally think the very first thing every woman should do is to look at herself and see what she achieved so far and the article “Increasing Your Confidence Is Your Key to Success” written by Susan Murphy for Forbes is detailing this perfectly – “When you realize how much people have done for you and how much you have accomplished, you feel more confident”.

It’s that simple. From what I learned so far, you have to create a list of things you are good at. Are you a good driver, are you sociable, are you good at making things? Write them down and read them once a day, ideally in the morning to start your day in a good mood. Pray and ask God what is His plan for you, what is the next step you should take in your life?

Be Grateful!

Keep a “Gratitude Journal” that you update it daily. Just ask yourself “What Am I Grateful For”? I know I am grateful for God’s grace that He gave me so far. I have a loving husband, a healthy and beautiful daughter and I think I found out what God wants me to do. These are some of the things I am grateful for. What are you grateful for?

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” -James 1:17 ESV

“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” – Ephesians 5:20

Be Happy!

“Laughing is like internal jogging, increasing your confidence and self-esteem,” says the same article.

This is very true. Everyone can use laughter as stress relief. And here is a medical explanation: “When we laugh, our body relaxes and endorphins (natural painkillers) are released into the blood stream. Laughter doesn’t come easily to everyone, but luckily the body can’t actually distinguish between real and fake laughter. So faking it has the same beneficial effect”.

When you feel down think about something or someone you love, pray and open the Bible and look for verses on joy and laughter.

“Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
‘The Lord has done great things for them’.
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.”

Psalm 126:2-3, NIV
